Philip Wade
Chief Investment Officer
Philip A Wade is CIO of the Kessler Collection where he is responsible for deal sourcing, coordinating transactions, asset management, contract negotiation, forecasting, and investor relations.
Prior to joining Kessler Collection, Phil served as Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of LionGrove Capital, a private real estate investment and management company based in Miami, FL, from 2021 to 2022. In this role he was responsible for the asset management of several company owned resort properties in Puerto Rico and exploring hotel acquisition opportunities in the Southeastern United States and Caribbean.
In 2020, Phil established his private investment company New Vicennium LLC to opportunistically invest in small resorts and boutique hotels and helped launch {verdigreen} hotels, a real estate investment and management company focused on the sub-scale bed & breakfast lodging segment.
From 2007 to 2020, Phil served as Chief Investment Officer for Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc. [NYSE: XHR], a $3.5 billion public lodging REIT, where he was responsible for guiding Xenia’s hotel investment strategy and executed all of Xenia’s $7+ billion of hotel acquisitions and dispositions over the course of his thirteen-year tenure which began at the company’s founding and included it’s public listing in February 2015. While in this role at Xenia, Phil was responsible for coordinating partnerships that included three operating Kessler hotels and two developments in Mountain Brook and Charleston.
Originally from Atlanta, Phil earned his Bachelor of Science in Management with a Finance concentration from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he also got his start in hospitality as a banquet server and bartender for Marriott. He is an active member of the Hotel Development Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).
